I don't think AMD will go much of anywhere tomorrow. After two warnings, analysts probably just pulled a negative number out of their hat. This is one of the few times that an earnings announcement truly could be considered an anticlimax. The earnings press release was pretty much as expected with one exception: Jerry did not have a very upbeat quote. The $150 ASP is kind of crummy and the 4Q ASP will probably be lower (a lot lower if they don't get yields up). One other thing I noticed in what Jerry said was his comment about attempting to improve on the yields in the future. This is a departure from his previous comments which implied that the yields had already improved. Normally, I would not put much weight in such nuances, but Jerry has a history of statements where nuances were very important.
