"we always think it is about us"
But it is "about us". That is what we SHOULD do, is to concern ourselves with our problems as a nation, to mind our own business and let the rest of the world do what it will. We shouldn't try to "save the planet", by force or otherwise.
In fact, the people of most nations DON'T give a hoot about "the world", they concern themselves with their own problems as they should and as we should.
We should get our troops out of Iraq, Germany, Korea, Japan and a hundred other places. We should stop being the "Royal Navy" to the whole world, after all, unlike the English back in their heyday, the whole place is not "our colony".
It is a damn shame that we wound up in the position of "world policeman" and "sole superpower" but sadly that is where we are now. And when we withdraw from that role, there will be war, probably world war and a nuclear world war at that. But we should withdraw anyway, the sooner the better.
