I have no idea what Amanpour's goal is or what this program has as its agenda. I will try to remember to watch it. It seems everyone is jumping the gun on what it actually involves and I am not sure if it's about extremists or every day religious life, or what.

But from a purely academic standpoint, understanding that extremism is motivated by the same things -- not that the beliefs driving them are the same or equate morally- but that that they have the same psychological structure behind them, seems something worth being aware of. Intolerance and being the possessors of The Truth occur in all religions.

However, you are absolutely correct that if she is using extremist Christian fundamentalism against everyday non-extremist Muslimism it would be, at best, confusing, and at worst, smack of the agenda mentioned.

So I am curious to see the program now!
