If you continue reading the same article, you'll notice that Michael Dell said that spending on PC hardware would not slow down. In fact, the main focus of the article wasn't about Y2K at all.

It doesn't surprise me that Duffield would hop on the Y2K bandwagon because his company sells client/server solutions for human resources, payroll and related applications. He stands to gain if people believe that they must upgrade older software.

It also doesn't surprise me that you would resort to rude and childish personal attacks, such as calling me a "lazy SOB". I've noticed that many of the Y2K hypesters resort to these bullying tactics. I have no doubt that people who read your posts will gauge your credibility accordingly.
