That hasn't worked since late 2002. Since we are entering a new phase of much more volatility again it will probably start working again should we be range bound at best in coming years..

Now if the bull market is really still intact it won't work, the market will go to new all time highs and shorts will get slaughtered thinking VIX at 9 means a down leg is certain<g>
