...by wrongly claiming that I said it applied to all X-series Clovertowns when I clearly said otherwise in the above statement.

Sorry to burst your bubble, the the Intel website clearly says that only 2.33 GHz and slower Clovertowns can hit the 80w TDP. 2.66 and 3.0 are still 120w. This is a pretty recent update since X5365 was spec-less until very recently.

Maybe someone here has access to the actual datasheets on the AMD Opteron SE parts. It would be helpful to know whether Tcmax is at the bottom or top of the 67-72 range.

I apologize for misinterpreting your Tcmax comparison. When I realized it, was too late to edit.
