Mormonism's really no wackier that Scientology.

Both Mormonism and Scientology suffer from the same problem, they were conceived in America in contemporary times, people were paying attention, and documenting the cons in english.

Older religions have had centuries to hide, clean up and blur their origins. But, I don't doubt that they too were just as big of a con job in their day.
