You just missed the point.

The point is not whether we can class it as "religious" and presumably "not ok" vis "non-religious" and presumably "ok".

The point is that everybody's values and ethics, whether religiously based or not, lead to certain codes of behavior, and as a parent you do not want your child instructed in school that things you regard as crimes are fine and dandy. Now if you are in a minority religion you may not have a choice. Jewish children will get the message that Sabbath observance is silly and eating pork is fine. What Christian parents are really objecting to is being regarded the same way, as a fringe minority whose opinions don't matter.

That is why I brought up the example of honor-killing, which you just brushed off to talk about eating pork instead. If YOUR child was taught in school that honor-killing was GOOD and RIGHT and a DUTY of a man of honor, would you be parsing questions of religious vs non-religious? Or would you just be outraged?
