What Christian parents are really objecting to is being regarded the same way, as a fringe minority whose opinions don't matter.

That is why I brought up the example of honor-killing, which you just brushed off to talk about eating pork instead. If YOUR child was taught in school that honor-killing was GOOD and RIGHT and a DUTY of a man of honor, would you be parsing questions of religious vs non-religious? Or would you just be outraged?
