John and Mike, blame the 'STUPID PC', that's it. love this argumnets. I don't think it is the 'stupid' vs 'educated' consumer. It's more like the 'have(a lot)' vs 'have(a little)' consumer.
To the 'Lexus' buyer, the higher the price, the better the car ( at least, others cannot afford it and the poor folks never had the chance to understand what they are missing/not missing ).
To the 'Corrolla' buyer (spelling?), it just doesn't seem to be cheap enough. Fortunately for corrolla, after years of improvements and hardwork, it gained well deserved recognition.
For a long time, INTEL can charge as high as they like, and buyeer likes it (at least to some, others have to skip a generation or two).
Lately, the landscape changed a little bit, but not that much. cyrxi/ amd still has a long way to go. At least, give them credit to have that first step. Of course, without those guys, INTEL should be about $300 now and a STUPID PC would still be in $2000+ range.
Just don't pay too much for a stupid PC. |
