Those are card slots. Memory slots are similar, but not quite as wide. Look for them close to the processor. Basically, look for the slots that are different from the card slots. You should see smaller circuit boards sticking out of them. Those are memory sticks.

They do sell 1gig RAM sticks. Check www.pricewatch.com
