Last night in Nashua US Senator Barack Obama became the latest Democratic presidential candidate to say that if he were elected president he would end raids from federal law enforcement agencies against those who use medical marijuana in the dozen states where it is legal to do so.

According to Granite Staters for Medical Marijuana, this means that now all 2008 Democratic presidential candidates have agreed to stop raids, something the group says has been on the rise this summer, especially in California.

Three New England state -- Maine, Vermont and Rhode Island -- allow the use of marijuana for medical purposes.
