Yamana Gold Inc. has given a green light to construction of the main Quebrada Del Diablo deposit in Argentina after a positive feasibility study and environmental approval. The miner said yesterday the results and approval for its Gualcamayo environmental assessment report come as it receives the latest scoping study for the Amelia Ines and Magdalena deposits - both of which comprise the Gualcamayo project alongside Quebrada. Yamana said it's aiming to have Quebrada's ore mining and processing under way by the middle of next year. Magalena is expected to start processing ore in 2009, while the lower west zone of Quebrada will be started in 2010. YRI (TSX) rose 23 cents to $10.81.
