"There are others who have sacrificed and who would count as making deposits towards freedom. Several of those have made the ultimate sacrifice. People such as the 9/11 victims, Daniel Pearl, etc."

Huh? How did those victims "make a deposit towards freedom?" Just by being killed? How about someone who dies in a car crash? Is that a "deposit towards freedom?" Or does someone have to die in a particular way or at the hands of a particular group to make a "deposit towards freedom?"

And, I don't like your use of the word "sacrificed" in this context. To claim they "made the ultimate sacrifice" implies that they did so by choice, to further some cause. They didn't. They were just unlucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Just being a victim doesn't necessarily make a person heroic.

I feel as badly about the deaths of those people as anyone, but just being victims doesn't make them particularly heroic in my mind.
