John,

I was quoting our friend Mike when I wrote about the "stupid consumer". My career has been with companies that manufacture products sold to the consumer, and to me the consumer is the ultimate judge of everything, from product to price to marketing. Saying the consumer is stupid is like saying gravity is stupid, everyone selling a product is as subject to the consumer as we all are subject to gravity.
