Let's just say the peak sales were already heading in the wrong direction and this doesn't help.

I don't think I've seen a worse switch for a blockbuster product. Usually there's a sense of urgency to protect hundreds of millions in profit. gsk on the other hand didnt put in a dedicated sales force until recently and for some reason did a study trying to show you get better compliance with a once a day even though it was to be implied. Instead they just proved in a controlled study you don't. Now without hard data showing once daily is actually better, once generics are approved why should managed care pay for CR?

Basically anything that could go wrong has gone wrong.
