It is funny how people interpret history. He did not cave, he simple let the fools design something which was WAY inferior in an attempt to get around the basic CDMA patents only to find out that they really had to use them anyway. And then if you REALLY take a survey of the avaiulable WCDMA chipsets today, you will find that their is staill a large gap between what Qualcomm is delivering and what the otehr "also rans" are delivering. I would rate it rather clever, than caving.....
