Actually, I bet they (MSFT) anticipated this suit. It seems they pushed McNealy into this position on purpose, and they are far too clever not to have a good reason. McNealy in his press conference sounded like he didn't want this to happen, admitting it is bad for business. He tried for six months of negotiating to prevent this.

The bottom line is that although McNealy was the one taking the action, it wasn't really his choice. It was the only choice MSFT left him. MSFT is calling the shots. I think MSFT might countersue if we withold Java, or they might drag this out in the courts until Java is irrelevant.

That's why they had a better day than we did on Wall Street. If MSFT countersues, look for us to get hammered.

This is just my oppinion, which is even more humble than yours.
