I never slink, that's behaviour more akin to your species ;-). I'm putting forward the most likliest explanation for why he might say such things although personally I'm unsure how all the Barcelona changes will affect gaming in terms of how much although I am pretty certain Server performance will be excellent per watt and per clock. I think the doubling of cache bandwidth may help the most in gaming as a byproduct of the 128-bit SSE2 changes as well as the prefetching and OoO improvements but enough to vaunt Core 2 ? Dunno. I also realise salesmen are prone to hyperbole so that's another uncertainty to throw in the equation. What I will say for sure is that your certainty is completely unjustified with all the unknowns.
