BUT: the only I reason I became interested in another virtualization option was because Parallels has some obvious/annoying lag problems that were only getting worse with each iteration. And one of the demands I have because of the type of software I'm using is speed -that's a real and big difference I've found with Fusion while experimenting for several hours, mainly over a few weekends (and having just read the Mossberg review, I think he should've stressed this fact more; check the forums and you'll see it all over the place). Fascinating. Which "forums" did you have in mind to check. I would love to read that.
