Your thoughts on the following :
1) What effect to earnings in 1998 do you think will happen assuming INTEL buys DEC chip fab ? I do not think INTEL will sell ALPHA production to DEC for cost - also they will be able to use the excess for their own needs .
2) The possible effect of DEC becoming similar in relationship to INTEL as COMPAQ is at present ? I feel it should enhanced sales to DEC of INTEL products .
3) The savings in cost of buying a fab at half the price ? I realize it will have to be upgraded to INTEL standards but it is currently running and does not require a two to three year lead time to come on line .
4) Settles the lawsuit & lifts the cloud over possible financial impact to the company

JOHN - just thought it would be nice to discuss some of the positve angles of why INTEL might want to settle this issue with DEC
