michael,who is talking of penalizing? I am talking about accepting that the past cant just be swept under the door. the french will always distrust the british...o perfid Albion! Japan derived its culture from china yet has still be able to look down on the chinese as inferior.. Kamakazi( Devine wind) is still a term very much alive....though how long ago was it coined?......and who did it save from whom? genocide was not invented by the germans. Think of the millions of indiginouse populations who were consumed working the mines of the new world. Have a look at Belgiums history in africa.....the dutch in indonesia,the USA and the indians...the spanish in the new world . look at european policy in china only a hundred years ago...... that anyone can think such things dont count and are only in the past is saddening.... you will find that many remember the worst events of their past just as jews remember the holocaust. to denie them reeks of hypocracy. and it is a human tendancy to discount that which one cant be bothered to learn.
