Mike, what you say has been said a hundred times in the past 2 years by shorts who come and go on this thread.

What you don't seem to understand is, it's not just about processor speed, although that's a part of it, it's about marketing and management and production, and confidence by OEM's, and so much more.

Go find a stranger on the street and ask them what the fastest processor is. How much would you care to wager that over 80% would say Pentium something?

These threads are filled with unusually bright people with regard to technology. The average person thinking about a computer only knows Pentium. There is a big reason for this. It's called Marketing with a capital M. Intel's marketing of the Pentium brand name is second to none in industry today.

Will AMD or NSM/Cyrix ever figure this out is anybodies guess, but if they don't they may be gone from this market in 5 years.

Do you really think Intel will be??
