I think they are unnecessary, and I can't think of a reason why you'd want a blanket rule of not to exceed N number of posts before it becomes a bannable offense. Surely, there are other ways of discouraging spam or repeated one-liners with no content, but any blanket statement also applies to people who might make a large number of very insightful posts in one day. Occasions of earnings releases might count towards this end. My opinion would be to do away with the speed limit. There are already rules in place to deal with spammers, trolls, and other repeat offenders.
