Hi Hawk,

Heck I'm pretty happy that you think of me when you look at SMH.<smile> Thanks

Here's some good news on this sector:

Semi makers industry group ratings:

This Week 36

Last friday 26

6 mos ago 144

Equipment makers:

This week 44

Last friday 40

6 mos ago 82

Varian Semi hit a new high up 4.77 on big volume and is Number 6 in IBD's top 100 stocks.

It has been a LOOOONNNG time since a sce firm has been in the top 10 IBD 100.

This is a pretty stock:http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=VSEA&p=D&yr=1&mn=0&dy=0&id=p13190223492

Granted Varian has been a leader in single wafer ion implanting - which is about now universally accepted as the future in all 300mm fabs.

There are many other small SCE firms that have created innovative yield enhancing process changes that will become SOP in chip makinginto the future.

It is great to see this maligned sector get some credit as a growth sector. It has been considered bleached bones for over 6 years.

Their balance sheets are bullet proof and there are some very smart engineers who have been at work making brillaint equipment that Intel and the memory and logic makers are paying very good money for.

It will become more and more broadly recognized throughout 07 and 08 I believe.

Think how much money would have been made if you bot Vsea at each dip to the 50sma - or just bought and held.

Can't believe the SI thread for Varian is dead - must mean it has a way to go as I think all these stocks are very underowned.

Bob

Hoping the Bradley brings us a ripper next week.

The price action off the low 7 days ago looks very good to me.
