Dear "Nice Guy" Mark:
I'm glad to see that you have a good sense of humor. I think that if a person is comfortable with him or herself, that there is no reason not to be nice. Being needy is something altogether different and may be mistaken for "niceness" because a person with lots of needs is trying to do anything to get them met. I think that nice guys may finish last because the object of their affection feels stifled. Maybe trying a more breezy approach would help. There was an episode on Frasier where the two brothers tried it; however, they were a little too neurotic to succeed. I think most normal nice guys could pull it off with aplomb. Just look at Joe....apparently he has quite the female following! mph
