Sure. But they have a higher suicide rate than we do. Japan, for example, has a suicide rate over twice what the US does. Belgium, almost the same. Switzerland, over 60% more. Looking at the raw figures, if suicide was also subtracted out of the mortality rates like homicide and traffic fatalities, it looks like the US life expectancy drops way down again.

You need to be careful when authors start massaging the figures, Tim. Like they say, figures don't lie, but liars figure.
