Gus > the jobless wretches of Mexico, Guatemala and beyond to "vote with their feet" and find a better life for themselves and their families up north is not tantamount to "terrorism"!

I think your sentimentality has gotten the better of you. You seem to have forgotten there are laws concerning immigration and neither poverty nor job-seeking entitle anyone to break those laws.

If these "wretches" seek a better life for themselves they should apply at the front-door for an immigration permit, as you or I would have to, not crawl under the fence and thereby criminalize themselves.

But because it suits the vested interests that the immigration laws are broken, Americans who are concerned about their national integrity (you call them racists) try whatever means they can to prevent violation of that integrity. Of course, the Mexicans are not terrorists, in fact the only terrorists are in Washington DC, but Americans whose lives are being affected by the illegal immigration are desperate and try whatever they can to get the authorities to enforce the law.

As you know, in South Africa we have a similar problem where millions of Zimbabweans have entered South Africa illegally, but out of desperation because of conditions in Zimbabwe. But there are no jobs for them in South Africa, in fact, SA has a 40% unemployment problem of its own. So, besides adding to the already unacceptable crime level and overrun social services, these people merely compound the difficulty that poor South Africans already have. The truth is the problem should be solved in Zimbabwe not create a problem in South Africa but no African leader is prepared to open his mouth to Mugabe. But doubtless, people like you will say the problem is caused by "racism" and "xenophobia" on the part of ordinary South Africans who are angry to see their country being overrun by the horde of desperate Zimbabweans.
