True enough. We learned from corporate research that homogenous groups get along with few conflicts but at a loss of innovation, hetergenous groups create solutions but are volatile and are hard to retain. It takes all kinds to run a world.

"...but the world is a diverse place and some people mix better than others.

Some people mix better, so what. That is true in all cultures. I know some Americans that would rather suffer isolation that sit down and talk with a Muslim over coffee. Your characterisations of Muslims is flawed. If you get out much you are probably mixing with more than you know. Not every muslim woman wears a burka, not every man rides a camel and wears a turbin. Some have actually learned to read, some even speak clear English. Some probably play with your children at school.
