This is a great opportunity to turn the tide of this
thread to what I've always hoped it could be. A thread
featuring intelligent macro analysis and discussion on
the broad market...and specifically, on the commodity
and precious metals sectors.
I'm not looking to turn this into a day-trading thread,
filled with pseudo calls based on nothing but
testosterone laden, wannabe one-upmanship.
If that's what you want... there are plenty of threads
on SI where you can find that.
er, my opinion....
Great threads do not happen by accident, nor are they wished for, they are more like great trades they take time, patience and effort. They take a moderator that encourages thoughts and posts from a wide variety of posters. They take education of the bright minds, yet ignorant of certain areas. They encourage the mediocre, exonerate the strong and educate the weak. They are more like the markets than one believes as they are about psychology.
One doesn't get a great thread by tabloid style, baiting the threadsters and then answering in a 'smarter than you' style. A great thread will come when all feel safe and encouraged to post thoughts, ideas and insights. It is a tough balance to achieve as one is really trying to build community. It's work of a sort that has nothing to do with just posting ones own opinions and looking for reaction.
But hey, trading looks easy too......
