Like I said in another post....I think what I'm suggesting could be viewed as selfish and self serving. I don't want the value of my home to decrease because 10% of the population is on the edge of losing theirs. I also don't want to live through the downside misery because the Fed gets forced to make rate decisions that are bad for the economy. I think you can oppose a bailout, view people as stupid for getting themselves in too deep AND still realize that it may be in everyone's best interest to act on this situation. So far its not too out of hand. Maybe this is all the worse it gets and we need no bailout. My guess is that its far worse than we'll ever know and that's what will push the fed into action
