Don't worry about that at all. Assessed is only a relevant number to the Taxman! That number never goes down LOL.

LOL!! But you bring up a very important point; that of local government budget deficits.

I know in the N. VA there exists some concern that drastic reductions in prevailing sale prices will force assessments (and thus, property taxes) to decline as well. Yet, those budgets are established and can't readily be reduced without significant clamor from the public.
