I don't believe the stuff about Tillman being shot and then shot again while lying on the ground. It really doesn't make any sense. Whether you wanted to kill him or not, you would know that the first shot would have finished him off. Why fire the next 2 unless it was automatic fire and the weapon fired so fast it couldn't be avoided? What I've always thought was that an automatic M16 could fire so rapidly that you could put 3 shots into a guys forehead while he was still standing there. When people say, "Where's the motive", I have to wonder if they've EVER been in a group of guys in a stressful situation. There are 4 ex-soldiers in prison in Florida right now because they killed one of their fellow soldiers after having just served with him in Iraq and returning home. It seems this guy got on their nerves in Iraq and after they hit a strip joint and got a little loaded they decided to "gut him" back here in the States. Tillman may very well have been a "pain in the ass", but NOBODY in that Unit was going to say so publicly after the fact, whether they thought, knew or even suspected he was killed on purpose. It just don't work that way. NOT if any of them planned on staying in the military...
