The 3GHz Phenom system in Leipzig has two HD 2900XT cards.

It was hard to imagine that Theo describes the internal
components and over clocks the GPUs without knowing how many
graphics cards there are in the system...

I don't know. I see single non-overclocked 2900TX results
at 15,000 3DMarks06. So would a system with two (somewhat
overclocked) 2900TX be able to break the 30,000?

I think the RD790 may play an important role with HT3.0
which goes to 3.6GHz and higher, as well as two full
x16 PCIe 2.0 interfaces, one to each GPU. And then there's
also the memory bus at 1066 MHz. 60% higher as Barcelona's
666 MHz.

I would believe Theo here for the simple fact that this
will be so easy to prove or disprove. A dishonest journo
would use "undisclosed sources" which he could blame
latter if things turn out different.
