A2: In this range it is Starlight Networks and TNC. Sun and SGI emerging. Q3. What role does CCUR play in VOD? A3: Trying to enter by preparing an IVOD application for thier base RT machine. They are know for a good machine and for their programming environment, but this time are writing application code for IVOD and will suffer a bit of a learning curve. They advertise the core server w/o storage, which is a bit unusual for IVOD vendors. Q4. What are the applications of VOD? A4: Entertainment and training mostly. Paying users. Q5. Who will Buy it? A5. I do not know who they are specifically aligning as customers. Some players are directing server sales to VARS, some to end user agencies (companies). That is one of the biggest decisions .. how to enter the market. To my knowledge CCURs IVOD system has not been sold to anyone yet, presumming they are cleaning up the design before commiting to system deliveries. The world is a bit timid about IVOD due to network readiness and economics. I did notice they will demo the MediaHawk at the Quaterly Stockholders meeting coming up this month.
