I can't believe you didn't get a warning. My front plate had fallen off (with some help from me LOL) and I was pulled over by a state patrol. I told her I was really sorry, was trying to keep my record clean (it had been 15-17 years since I had a ticket) and that I'd cooperate fully to try and avoid a ticket. I went on to say the last thing I wanted was for an oversight to impact my record like a moving traffic violation. In short I fed her honey and conducted myself in the exact opposite way most people do when they get pulled over. Now, I said I hadn't had a ticket in about 17 years - the truth is I've probably been pulled over an average of once every 2 years. But I figured out a long time ago if you just treat the police well, don't argue and empathize with the terrible job they have in life that you get off way more often. I was doing 75 in a 65 near Eau Claire a few years back. The State patrolman asked me if I knew how fast I was going. I told him when I saw his lights I looked at my speedometer and I was doing 76. I went on to say that I understood I was WAY over the limit and, while I was trying to keep a clean record, that I understood I had just earned a ticket and I respected anything he had to do. He took my license, gave me a warning and said cool the wheels down - you have too good a record to ruin by going 75. The value of honesty and a good butt kiss cannot be underestimated when dealing with a police officer OR any other person you need something from.

I just saw a picture of you that Sandintoes sent - Patti - you look ravishing! Could I borrow 5k for a month or two? <g>

SEE - it works
