29-Aug-07 07:13 ET In Play Radiant Systems profiled in New America section of IBD (15.39 ) : IBD reports the co is the provider of point-of-sale and back-office systems for restaurants and gas stations. Restaurants, retailers, gas stations and convenience stores use Radiant's systems to enter orders and track inventory, schedule workers and provide other functions. Its latest acquisition generated $13 million a year in sales when Radiant bought it. The segment should get near $20 million by year-end, says Paul Kaump, analyst at Northland Securities. The product was already strong, but Radiant has boosted its distribution system. The company's organic growth can keep it on the rise for many years, John Heyman, CEO of Radiant, says. Its second-quarter results show that. Sales rose 15% to $62.9 mln. Profits jumped 38% to 18 cents per share. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect full-year earnings to climb 26% to 73 cents per share. They see 8% profit growth next year to 79 cents.

Co also sees Q3 EPS of $0.18-0.19 vs $0.19 Reuters consensus; sees revs $63-65 mln vs $65.99 mln Reuters consensus.
