"why do we continue playing paddy cake with these people?" Why do we still give Billions each year to Egypt (originally because of the Egypt/Israel peace agreement) despite the fact that Mubarak has long since slipped into being a Dictator who jails his opponents to prevent any actual Democracy from breaking out? Why do we tippy-toe around the corrupt Saudi King and all his little corrupt Princelings? (Originally a deal cut right after WW II to 'take up' Britain's former Colonial role in the area, agreeing to 'defend' the Kingdom in return for rights for American oil companies to do business there --- but which agreement was made NULL AND VOID many decades ago when the Kingdom nationalized their ENTIRE oil industry and kicked all the foreign oil firms OUT.) Continuing to spend BILLIONS and BILLIONS to 'defend the area'... from WHAT? No one knows anymore! Why do we still saddle the American taxpayers with crushing debts to advantage the Arab States? There is NO 'national interest' anymore --- only 'private' interests remain, to suck up all of the subsidies. Why? Because we are foolish and we (the American public and taxpayers) have let others lead us around by the ring in our nose....
