Mike,

IBM has been selling Cyrix based chips for many many years. The key thing to remember is what percentage of their revenue and earnings are coming from Intel products. Answer, the vast majority. In addition, keep in mind CPQ is in a unique position because they are the biggest PC company in the world. Smaller tier 1 companies might not be as bold and might be much more intimidated by Intel.

Finally, the largest direct vendor, DELL, has already said that they have no interest in using non-Intel CPU's.
