<adventure, conscious, simplicity>

Thank you. I am looking forward to the adventure part and planning a trip this weekend to Louisiana. Being conscious and with much simplicity it should be a good weekend. Also wish all this rain would let up before we go. If it doesn't might rethink about going until the next weekend.

Getting those two bee hives out of our quarters and getting the repair completed have really been hampered by this weather that just keeps coming and coming our way. Was told they got 230 pounds of honey out while doing so. Started repairs yesterday and had to quit because of rain, the holes are sealed off until they can get back to work. Going to bring us some honey back and with the price of removing them what it was, that's mighty expensive honey we're going to be enjoying. The repair work was less than we expected, thank goodness, and they did tell us they would come back for a couple of years to check that the bees had not returned. Watching their procedure was quite interesting and there had to be a million bees flying in the back yard after they opened the holes to get them out. Honey and African bees in the lot. They wear protective suits, head gear and gloves that go up to their shoulders inside the suits with white tape around their gloves. The bees invade the tape and there were quite a few dead ones under the tape when he took his gear off.

Interesting thing he told us was that the African bees invade the hives because they are too lazy to work and they are mean, mean bees. He brought the dead Queen Bee to the window and she was almost an inch long and with a very fat body. The smaller hive's Queen was much smaller and about half her size. All in all glad that is done.
