"I don't know of any religion that calls for foot washing.

You don't know much that you didn't learn in your narrow and very sheltered existence.

I went to a church once when I was young where the members would wash each other's feet as a regular tradition, in rememberence of how Jesus washed his disciples feet to ceremoniously indicate the service aspect of the Christian religion. Jesus and his disciples always washed their feet when entering any building to pray. Most educated Christians I asked have verified that. Moses was commanded to remove his sandals, so that his presence before God in prayer would be in bare feet. Abraham is generally depicted prostrating himself in prayer in a fashion similar to Muslims when they place their forehead to the ground, without shoes. Most Jews confirm that information. Ever heard of ablution? That is a word that means to cleanse yourself (wash) before prayer and it is an Amerakun word.
