Read the last paragraph of his posting 4081. I thought it was rather nasty, uncalled for.

The data one decides to use or exclude is meaningful when coming up with charts. The post-merger chart merely shows how HPQ has done since HWP took-out CPQ, does not reveal the absorbed ex-CPQ contribution to HPQ's share appreciation.

The second one on CPQ? As I and NW have said, CPQ shareholders were mostly long-termers, a number of whom held through every split. I'd like to see a chart comparing the stock prices of CPQ with HPQ from the time CPQ went public (or even a year later) up to either the day a buy-out was announced or took place. You or Oeconomicus can dig up the information to make the chart, I know how my shares have appreciated and have no interest in wasting my time obtaining the information so you or Oeconomicus can try to get in the last word--which you will get because I, at least, am not here at SI for a dose of mud wrestling.
