This morning just after the open I call for a quote--last 29, bid 28 7/8 ask 29 up 3/4 (oh crud I'm thinking) volume 3500. 3500?? This isn't the first day this has happened, Barb. In fact, AVNT has established something of a pattern in recent trading whereby the ask will move up early in the day on virtually no volume, then come sliding back down on heavy selling late in the day. For you technicians out there, today AVNT had a significant bearish divergence in its On Balance Volume. This stock is ripe like an apple rotting on the branch and ready to fall hard from the tree. - Peter B
