The history involved makes folks on both sides intolerant. Jews and not only israeli jews will find it very difficult to forgive much less forget the suicide bombings. The arabs find the same to be true over the string of defeats starting in 47. Loss of land in 67 is only a part of that. Actually 67 is more understandable---loss of land in war is no shock to anyone in that region. Problem is arab intransigence on recognizing israel and negotiating a deal, any deal. Egypt did it. Jordan did it but the pals both sectarian nationalist fatah as well as religion based hamas have found it impossible. Israelis have always been willing to talk, though not always willing to compromise either. Peace can only come when arabs in the west bank and gaza and in the camps in lebanon say israel exists and will exist. Then all is possible.
