Jerusalem and its adjacent settlement is the border issue in a nutshell. The other stuff can be ironed out with equal exchanges of land in a heartbeat. I think J can become a more open city in time. I think you need one of those panama canal deals for 99 years. Israelis/Jews will not risk the city to politicians who talk out of both sides of their mouth on both sides. The day peace is made there will be too much distrust remaining for Jerusalem status to change. Maybe 20-30 years down the road J can become the dual capital of each state and better yet maybe the capital of a regional EU that could include israel, pal, jordan, perhaps even egypt. Rotating heads of state of course mostly cermonial. It would be nice if jews and arabs could make a go of it in this manner.
