thanks Gary. I like to think that is what makes this thread "fun", in a sort of warped kind of way. It's really starnge that when I watch movies, I always route for the underdog. I see AMD and Cyrix as the underdogs in this War and Beleive me Gary, I have tried and tried and tried to come up with some logical reason to route for these guys - but, alas, I can't. There simply is not enough evidence to back these companies and more importantly, their Future Prospects. As I said in my previous post, maybe and Just maybe, these 2 companies are in existence to keep Intel honest and to provide Low Cost, Low Margin PC's to consumers even if they have to Give Their processors Away to IBM and Compaq. Come on AMD Bulls, why do you think IBM and Compaq is doing business with AMD? Huh? Because they can get Sub-Par processors for Dirt Cheap.
Scenario - Hi Jerry Sanders, We Are IBM and Compaq and we will help in your fight against the mighty Intel, however, there is 1 Caveat - you Cannot make any money off the processors you are selling us (like being on a diet and having someone put a Banana Split in Front of you and saying, "You can only Smell It, Not Taste, OK?"
It;s such a shame, however we All have choices.
Take Care, Gary.
