The reason I asked is that I'm used to looking at statements from my insurer that often show a huge difference between the amount billed and the amount paid. And sometimes not. I find them interesting. Sometimes they pay as little as ten cents on the dollar to providers who have agreed to accept the insurance company's allowance. I have no clue as to how that translates to a system like Canada's. I don't know if the allowances paid are a fair price. Often they don't seem like it.
