Mexico has national health insurance.

So what we should do is get our Hospitals to start accepting Mexican Insurance?

Finally, our government can do something useful - we just need our politicians to tell Mexico, we won't deport them if you start paying their medical bills while they're "traveling" in our country.

There that addresses 40% of the 15% uninsured.

This law making stuff is easy. :-)

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LIKE IT! :-)

Unfortunately, if you are familiar with the quality of care and the equipment and drugs in the average Mexican Social Security Clinica (I haven't [Thank God] been in the Mexican SS hospitals), you know it would be shut down here. There are private doctors, clinics, abd hospitals in Mexico Uunlike the Canadian gocernment-only system). Whenever possible (that means we are close to one), we go to them.

Examples- -and these ARE representative:
Flies in the clinic.
A trash barrel burning out back, with the smoke wafting into the clinic (the doors were open; at least the thick black smoke drove off the flies- -unfortunately, my wife has bad asthma and nearly needed treatment herself).
I had to make a trip via ferry from Isla Mujeres to a private drug store in Cancun to pick up a drug my wife needed that the clinica did not have and bring it back.
A broken foot was misdiagnosed as a sprained ankle. The clinica had no X-ray machine. I was suspicious and we drove to see a private doctor in Cancun who did have his own X-ray anf made the correct diagnosis. The diagnosis was confirmed by a podiatrist here.
