I think that the Dems strategy over Iraq is to publicly give the Republicans enough rope to hang themselves. If they came down hard on Bush and stopped the funding, Republicans would turn around and blame everything going on in Iraq on the Dems lack of 'support.' The upshot is that the Dems end up looking like dolts to the Democratic base.

No wonder Congress has such a low approval rating.

NBC did a report on the Kurds carving out their own country as expected. They have banned the Iraqi flag, do not let in Arabs unless vouched for by a Kurd (whatever happened to the Arabs already there?), have dug a ditch between Kurdistan and Iraq and (lo and behold) are trying to take over the oil fields around Kirkuk.

This whole thing just gets more complicated.
