albert, i know what you are trying to say. You could be right but you're assuming that AMD would be getting brand recognition from this. My impression from the IBM deal was that IBM is not using AMD's name but is calling it IBM K6, so i guess its K6 and not AMD getting brand recognition. My impression is that CPQ is using AMD just to keep Intel honest. I don't think CPQ cares too much about AMD, and i don't see a relationship developing between the two. I guess i question AMD's product strategy right now. I would much rather see them concentrate on the lower Tier OEMs, build closer relationships with them, get their yields up FIRST, price their chips higher, before attempting to go for the big boys. The overall market is growing fast enough that this would be a profitable strategy. What's happening now by basically giving all of their chips that they can yield to DEC/IBM/CPQ, they could be losing the Tier 2 accounts to Cyrix and Intel. What's your take on the CC and analyst impression of it?

good luck,
joey
